Since the Deadpool craze is still high, but cooling down, I was finally able to make it out and see the movie. (Yes, I know I am late to the game.) {Hey there, kiddies, Deadpool here. It looks like Amni-fuck, I mean flux is writing about little ole me. How exciting!! *begins to slit wrist* Well did you really expect me not to chime in and comment on this? I think not. But why wait till the end? I’ll just pop my head up when I have something to say. So just know when you see my face and these little symbol thingies {} that’s me talking. Okay? Bye bye now}
Now, I am a huge Deadpool fan. Always have been. His character consistently brought humor to the Marvel Universe, and his comedic ability to break the 4th wall figuratively and literally separates him from the rest. There is no other superhero (that I personally know of) that can break the 4th wall. Deadpool is in a league of his own, and this year, the world learned why. From the legion of Deadpools at New York Comic-con (NYCC) to his cameos in cartoons, games, comics, and animated movies, Deadpool has built himself into a franchise that film companies are seeing it is hard to compete against.
{Does it sound like he wants to blow me? Yeah, I thought so too. ::zip:: Just hope he doesn’t mind the smell. *whispers* I forgot to wash today and I’ve been stroking my little Colossus all day… Anyways, this sounds like a review, I cannot take another blogger droning on about my movie. This better not be another fucking review, I swear, I will shoot this fucking nerd if this is another review} So, now that I finally had time to see the movie, this is my review.
{Fuck!!!!}
This movie was brilliant. I literally applaud Ryan Reynolds on his performance. The world has not seen a film so well done in terms of “superhero”movies in a long time. The movie was really funny. The humor was well placed along side the action. It told a great story that keeps you engaged, but I’m a nerd {We know!} I was looking at the subtle things when watching the movie.
{God, what a douche, I cant listen to him anymore. ::puts on head phones, cocks gun::} I wanted to see the Easter eggs and, low key shade, and references in the dialogue. That’s what got me excited. But, moreover Deadpool was not only the hero we all wanted but the hero we needed. Fans needed a hero to step up and say, “Give them what they want!” That is exactly what Ryan Reynolds did as Deadpool, literally and figuratively. Ryan Reynolds keeping his story as closely as he could to the origin and dynamic of the true character from the comics. But also, breaking that 4th wall and making fun of himself, as well as the studio, for their horrible attempts in the past. This movie was ground breaking because it will be the example for future movie releases, especially within the superhero genre. This fad has already began to take precedence with rumors of “R” ratings for superhero movies soon to be released. Deadpool has shown that it is okay to make a “R” rating for a genre that is looked at as PG-13. Many of these comicbook characters have depth. To tell their true stories, you need to not limit them to censorship. Deadpool was not the first superhero movie to have a “R” rating but since the “era of the superhero” on film (2000 – present) there hasn’t really been a push to give a superhero that edgy feeling again.
{::bobbing head, singing:: Shoot, shoot, stab, shoot, shoot, stab, shoot, shoot, stab, shoot, stab, shoot, stab, shoot} The last time a superhero,was given a weird edginess to him was when they turned Toby Maguire into an “emo” venom in Spiderman 3. (SMH, that one scene killed the franchise).
This was not okay!!!! Lol. Since then, the way to make movies “edgy” was to make them dark (i.e. Dark Knight Trilogy, Man of Steel franchise, IronMan 3, etc..) But, NOT EVERY MOVIE HAS TO BE DARK!!! Deadpool proved this to be true. With a “R” rating it was a light-hearted movie that had a hint of a love story. Because of his success, there will be a lot more “R” rated superhero movies.
{::: takes off headphones::: Is he still droning on? People why are you still reading this? And why the fuck are there pictures of other people. This is my review! MY REVIEW!!!!Is that Toby Maguire? WTF man? Why would you EVER have to talk about him? Wasn’t he in the Great Gaspy, with that horrible old English accent, that he FAILED to produce!! I guess spidey didn’t eat enough of uncle Ben delicious rice to act better. Jesus? Hold on, let me read…….R rating….. Ha! Emo venom….god, I hate him. Remember that dance he did on the street in the black suit, hahahaha hahahahahahahahahahahahaha HA! oooooh (fake laugh) I still get nightmares. Is that bats and race car colored tin foil man?? Why is the alien cheat code here? sigh.. This is why I hate reviews because of BULLSHIT LIKE THIS!!!}
Deadpool also showed film executives that they can produce great success if you stick to the original characters. Film studios tend to make adaptations to the origin of beloved characters and manipulate their look, characteristics, personality etc.. to become more “modern” or “edgy” Whether it’s small changes or major changes, any real fan will have reservations toward the character that is being depicted and usually becomes more critical. But with a small budget, Deadpool has given the fans an accurate depiction of the character and the characters surrounding him. He gave fans the movie we have be waiting for. Every character in Deadpool was depicted beautifully. Especially side characters such as, Colossus. I loved everything about Colossus. His reservations to conflict, his look, how he acted, everything. This was clear and true to the original comics and the animated series of X-men. This movie has really changed the game in so many ways.{Yeah, hes right, Colossus looked sooooo fucking bad in this men movies, and the acting, holy staff of Moses, the acting was horrible. This is why I refuse to join the X-men boy band. I will die before I get put into one of those horrific movies! That they just keep making. Why won’t they stop? And, to be ordered around by a shiny bald headed, invasion of privacy, ass, squirrel fart, that just rolls around day and night. I think not. The only kinda bald headed man I want rolling around in my dreams is, Agent Coulson. Phil in his little tight suit and skinny tie, still gives me goose bumps} I look forward to the new wave of the era of superheros. Where characters are shown and illustrated as who they are, rather than what film studios want them to be.Even though Deadpool is not a hero, he is the hero we as fans needed. We needed to show Hollywood that its okay to make a superhero movie, without tampering with the superhero.
Also, Deadpool is the voice of the fans everywhere. As long as the franchise has success and fan support, Deadpool will continue to be our champion on the internet. The his film had some of the best marketing ever seen for a movie. It was brilliant seeing him make fun of not only himself but relevant ads, commercials, and TV personalities to market his own movie. It’s because his origin allows him to (again that 4th wall). So now that the crazy is dying down. Deadpool will remain relevant and be the voice and fave of fans within nerdom everywhere. He will be the memes, the gifs, and fan reactions to all nerdom moving forward. For new trailers, even side comedy about things happening in fandom. I am sure you will see or find Deadpool somewhere talking shit. And this is why we love him. This love will also keep the franchise relevant and strong for years to come. Don’t be surprised to see Deadpool in future Marvel movies as well. Whether it be a cameo or an actual role. Deadpool is here to stay and I have no iss—BANG!!!!!….
{Finally! Sheeeeshhh talk, talk, talk, talk, talk! Shut up already we get it you like my movie. Now, time to get a nice thick, moist, delicious chimichanga. Bye Kiddies!!! Oh yeah.
